Creating a project note
Creating a project note is really straightforward. Here’s a quick step-by-step summary:
- open up a project
- find “Notes” tab
- click “+ New note” button

Creating a work item note
Creating a note for a work item it the best way to store your ideas, that won’t fit the title, description nor a comment. You can create either a visible note or private to you. Here’s a quick summary on how to create a work item note:
- open up the work item detail
- scroll down to see “Activity” section
- click “Notes” tab

Creating a general note
Wanting to jot down some information that should stay in Jira, but it does not fit well within any project, nor particular work item? Don’t worry – you can create a general note – that won’t be assigned to neither of them. It would be a part of your notebook – and only you can see it (or you can share it with others). Here’s a quick summary of on how to create a general note:
- click “Project Notes” within left Jira sidebar (“Apps” section)
- Click “+ New Note“
