Project Notes for Jira gives you 3 different ways on where to create notes (for a project, for a work item, a general note).
After working with notes for some time you might want to start asking: Which people in Jira are going to see the notes I create?
An answer to that question can be formulated as follows: every note can be either:
- visible to others,
- or private to you.
In order to avoid confusion, you should go with the following guidelines
- project notes -> should be visible to everybody on the project
- work item notes -> decide when creating a note (you can quickly switch between a visible / private note)
- general notes -> should be visible only to you
